Dāna is a Pali word meaning generosity, and refers to a system used widely within the Buddhist community as a way of supporting teachers so they can offer access to the teachings without economic barrier. The majority of my income comes through relying on the generosity of others, which is my great joy and practice in reciprocity and trust.  Your gift is essential in the continuity of my offerings, but also many others who I teach. Thank you so much for your support.

Generosity is said to be one of the most joyful and palpable experiences of letting go, and thus the Buddha typically taught it as a practice of liberation even before teaching people how to meditate. In a single act of generosity, one experiences joy three times: In the thought of giving, the act of giving, and the memory of having given. And so it is through this practice of joy that we find palpable freedom.
