After years of searching for deeper meaning in life, I finally encountered meditation in my early 20's. Someone handed me a small book on how to meditate, and I was unstoppably hooked. I did a deep dive into long retreat practice at the Insight Meditation Society for many years, and my life has been completely transformed. I seek freedom through living intuitively, and support others in discovering the power of their own intuition.
I practice regularly on long retreats, but it's also fairly common to see me meditating in random spots at home or in public. I do my best to walk this path through my own intuitive process, however that may vary from the ways we normally think about Buddhism and meditation. Nature, receptivity, and humor are all integral to my teaching. I teach with Inward Bound Mindfulness Education, Insight Meditation Society, Spirit Rock Meditation Center, Ten Percent Happier, and I've been known to dabble as a mindfulness-based psychotherapist, artist*, and wilderness guide. In September I will complete the four year Spirit Rock Teacher Training Program, and in my spare time I enjoy walking and watching plants grow.
